Ask your prescriber to send your GLP-1 prescription to Greenpoint Pharmacy by e-prescription or fax (718) 937-1884, or bring it in yourself. If you do not have a prescription yet, that is a conversation to have with your healthcare provider.
We verify your prescription
Our pharmacist checks the prescription against your full medication list and contacts your prescriber with any questions before we fill it.
We check your coverage
Some insurance plans cover GLP-1 medications for certain diagnoses; many don't. We run it and tell you the real monthly cost before you commit.
Dispensed and delivered
We fill it and deliver free anywhere in New York State, in cold-chain packaging where the medication requires it. Then we stay reachable.
A pharmacist you can actually phone
Most of the practical questions about a GLP-1 medication come up after the prescription is written — how to handle the first injection, what to do about nausea in week two, how to store it, what happens if you miss a dose, whether it interacts with something else you take. An app sends you to a chat queue. We're a pharmacy on Greenpoint Avenue with a supervising pharmacist, Natali Malachov, RPh, and a phone number that a person answers.
We also see your whole medication list, not just this one prescription — which is the point of using a pharmacy rather than a website.
Worth being clear about
GLP-1 medications are prescription drugs with real side effects, and they aren't right for everyone. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and constipation are common, particularly when a dose goes up. They are not recommended for people with certain personal or family medical histories, and they interact with some other medications. Results vary from person to person, and the medication works alongside changes to eating and activity rather than instead of them.
